Configure Update Interval for Ubuntu Updates

Ubuntu Linux allows you to configure an automatic system update, which helps you keep your computer up-to-date. There is a nice GUI tool that helps you configure how updates are performed.

Configure the System

Launch Configuration Tool

You may find the tool on the Gnome Desktop at System / Administration menu. The Application is called Software Sources.

Configure the Update Interval

After starting the tool click on the Updates tab, and you will see a section to configure how your system will behave when updates are available and how often the you want to check for updates. (Note: updates may be downloaded in the background)
